Arcadia Montessori is seeking a dedicated, reliable, person who believes in the Montessori curriculum and aiding in the development of the child. We are centrally located in Phoenix, Arizona and are celebrating our 53rd year. Arcadia Montessori has spacious indoor and outdoor environments that are prepared by the lead guide and their team to best fit the needs of the children they are serving.

AMI or AMS 3-6 certification and at least two years of lead teaching in a Montessori

classroom experience is required. 

Hours are from 7:00am-3:00pm with a 30-minute lunch break.

We are seeking a Montessori trained administrative professional.

Responsibilities

• Act as a front-desk receptionist
• Book meetings and schedule events
• Order office stationery and supplies
• Coordinate logistics for deliveries and maintenance
• Ensure classrooms are properly setup
• Organize, store and print company documents as needed
• Communicate with existing families
• Coordinate logistics for deliveries and maintenance
• Keep employee records (physical and digital)
• Order Montessori materials
• Tour prospective families and assist with the enrollment process
• Assist in overseeing employees with an emphasis on training

Skills

• Proven experience as an Administrator, Administrative Assistant or relevant role
• Montessori training (AMI or AMS) is preferred
• Experience in a Montessori setting preferred
• Experience with office management tools (Google Suite, MS Office)
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Problem-solving attitude with an eye for detail

The Montessori Elementary Teacher is a guide who helps direct his/her students’ activities academically, emotionally, and physically.  This is done in a Montessori environment that challenges each child to reach their highest potential as they make learning connections using higher level thinking to problem solve and make sense of the world around them,  in accordance with Montessori philosophy and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

1. Arizona Standard Professional Elementary certificate
2. Experience teaching 1st – 3rd grades (preferred)
3. Montessori teaching credential from an AMS, NCME, AMI teacher education program, or a MACTE-accredited course for the age level of the program

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Conduct appropriate academic screening and ongoing observational assessments.
• Maintain accurate records for documentation of student progress.
• Develop lessons and manage the learning experiences for students to  ensure the needs of the groups and individual students are met.
• Maintain a safe, neat, and well-organized environment consistent with Montessori pedagogy.
• Work to develop close and effective relationships with parents,  including opportunities to discuss and understand the child’s individual  progress and encourages them to bond with the class and the larger  school community.
• Provide individual tracking of student progress.
• Plan, conduct and/or participate in professional development.
• Direct activities of instructional assistants.
• Provide performance evaluation input regarding instructional assistant(s) to school administrator.
• Attend all necessary training and department meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Strong  communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with an  ability to work patiently and empathetically with children, parents, and  staff.
• Familiarity with Arizona state licensing regulations is essential.
