SHAW MONTESSORI SCHOOL is seeking Primary and Elementary teachers to lead preschool-kindergarten, 6-9 and 9-12 classrooms beginning in July 2026. Shaw serves 500 students, Primary through Middle School in beautiful, well-appointed environments. Art, music, instrumental music, physical education, after-school care, after-school enrichment classes and a seed-to-table curriculum are also offered.

Located in the heart of Phoenix, where the sunshine 360 days a year. We are close to the beaches of Mexico and California. Phoenix offers easy access to a variety of cultural, sporting, entertainment, and outdoor activities both in the city and around the state.

1) Lead Toddler Guide (Ages ~1–3)

Position: Lead Toddler Guide (Full-Time)
Dates: July 13, 2026 – May 28, 2027
Location: Recker (Gilbert) and/or Signal Butte (Queen Creek)

Role Summary

Lead a Montessori toddler environment that supports independence, language development, and social-emotional growth,  in partnership with a full-time assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a toddler classroom with a full-time assistant
  • Prepare and maintain an orderly Montessori environment (materials, routines, safety)
  • Observe students, track growth, and adjust lessons/activities accordingly
  • Communicate consistently with families and collaborate with school staff
  • Participate in afterschool meetings as scheduled

Preferred Qualifications

  • Montessori Toddler certification preferred (or willingness to complete training)
  • Classroom experience with toddlers or early childhood groups
  • Calm, consistent classroom leadership and strong communication

 

2) Lead Primary Guide (Ages ~3–6)

Position: Lead Primary Guide (Full-Time)
Dates: July 13, 2026 – May 28, 2027
Location: Recker (Gilbert) and/or Signal Butte (Queen Creek)

Role Summary

Guide children in a Montessori Primary classroom, building strong foundations in independence, literacy, numeracy,  practical life, and grace and courtesy with a full-time assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a Primary classroom with a full-time assistant
  • Deliver Montessori presentations and maintain the prepared environment
  • Support student independence, concentration, and respectful classroom culture
  • Communicate student progress with families; participate in conferences as needed
  • Attend afterschool meetings as scheduled

Preferred Qualifications

  • Montessori Primary certification preferred (or willingness to complete training)
  • Early childhood teaching experience preferred
  • Strong classroom routines, organization, and parent communication

 

3) Lead Lower Elementary Guide (1st–3rd Grade)

Position: Lead Lower Elementary Guide (Full-Time)
Dates: July 13, 2026 – May 28, 2027
Location: Recker (Gilbert) and/or Signal Butte (Queen Creek)

Role Summary

Lead a Lower Elementary Montessori classroom that develops strong academic skills, independence, and critical thinking  in a multi-age setting, supported by a full-time assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a classroom of approximately 30 students (1st–3rd) with a full-time assistant
  • Plan and deliver Montessori lessons aligned to student needs and school expectations
  • Maintain clear classroom systems for work cycles, accountability, and culture
  • Collaborate with enrichment teachers; use daily prep time strategically
  • Communicate progress with families and participate in meetings as scheduled

Preferred Qualifications

  • Montessori Lower Elementary certification preferred (or willingness to complete training)
  • Elementary classroom experience preferred
  • Strong planning, organization, and leadership in a multi-age environment

 

4) Lead Upper Elementary Guide (4th–6th Grade)

Position: Lead Upper Elementary Guide (Full-Time)
Dates: July 13, 2026 – May 28, 2027
Location: Recker (Gilbert) and/or Signal Butte (Queen Creek)

Role Summary

Lead an Upper Elementary Montessori environment focused on independence, academic depth, leadership, and critical  thinking, supported by a full-time assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a classroom of approximately 30 students (4th–6th) with a full-time assistant
  • Deliver rigorous Montessori lessons and support student ownership of work
  • Establish strong culture: responsibility, respectful communication, and accountability
  • Coordinate with enrichment (music/art/STREAMS) and use daily prep time effectively 
  • Attend afterschool meetings a couple times per week
  • Preferred Qualifications
     
  • Montessori Upper Elementary certification preferred (or willingness to complete training)
  • Experience with upper elementary learners preferred
  • Confident classroom leadership and strong family communication
